When the weather improves in the Spring, we intend to update pictures of our younger horses,
many of which are at trainable age now. Most have not had their pictures taken since they were foals.

2011 - 2010 - 2009 - 2008: Tjaldari - 2007 - 2005 - 2003: Tappi - 2002: Sæta

[ Note: pictures are often taken of young foals the day they're born or quickly thereafter. It normally
takes a week or two for their legs to straighten out after the confinement of the womb. Hocks can be a
bit too bent and pasternes not yet loosened up. Don't assume that this is their permanent conformation. ]

We do not normally sell horses until they are several years of age. Just so you'll know.

Sjöfn frá LoneStar
Rut frá Litlagarði was bred to our Sjóli frá LoneStar.
Sjöfn arrived April, 29th. She was born around supper time and she's a red bay like Sjóli..
Calculated BLUP with current scores puts this foal at 107. Conformation of 108. Talent of 106. Tolt of 106.
This is one GOOD looking little filly. Look at those strong shoulders. !
Sjöfn moves like Sjóli or even better (especially at this age) showing very extended long & wide high movements.
She is VERY attractive and is almost verticle on her front end (very raised neck).
At September 3rd, 2014, Sjöfn got a new mother, Ósk. And Rut gets a well deserved break.
And Sjöfn is already a very big girl, with every good conformation and is very attractive.

Lineage of Sjöfn frá LoneStar

Sometimes everthing just comes together in one horse and that is the case with Sjöfn. She is nearly perfect.
Sjöfn's mother Rut is 5 gaited. Her father, Sjóli, is 4 gaited. Sjöfn shows tolt with high lift
and trot with high suspension, just like her father.

Sjöfn's back hooves are standing on a large rock outcropping.

Þokkadís frá LoneStar - For Sale
Stássa has been bred to our Sjóli in 2011 for a foal in 2012. Confirmed pregnant.
This foal has been born, May 26th, 2012, i.e. Sjóli's birthday. It's a filly.
I actually helped this one get born. :-)
Stássa and Sjóli are two of the best looking Icelandic horses
that I've ever seen. So how could this filly not be good looking !?!?! ;-)
Þokkadís, i.e. Goddess of Beauthy.

Þokkadís is already showing some very typical Sjóli characteristics.
You can not feel her back bone as the muscles around her back are so developed
and strong. She is actually more advanced than Sjóli was at this age.
She is going to be a VERY Strong & Powerful mare.

First Prize Grandsires: Tígull frá Gygjarhóli and Asi frá Kálfholti (Kolkuos)
In addition Þokkadís traces her lineage to the following stallions/mares: Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ (Honor Prize=HP)
Sörli frá Sauðárkróki (HP), Nattfari fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi (HP), Hlynur frá Báreksstöðum (1st Prize),
Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (Honor Prize), Ófeigur frá Flugumýri (Honor Prize),
Hlynur frá Kirkjubæ, Hörður frá Kolkuósi, Stígandi frá Kolkuósi, Kolbakur frá Kolkuósi,
Lettir frá Kolkuósi, Rauður frá Kolkuósi, Snæfaxi frá Kirkjubæ
Feykir frá Hafsteinsstöðum, Markús frá Langholtsparti (son of Orri frá Þúfu-Honor Prize)
(Markús and Asi frá Kálfholti both have First Prize for offspring)
and the Honor Prize mares: Terna frá Kirkjubæ & Siða frá Sauðárkróki.
Sjóli's father, Tígull, is one of the highest evaluated four gaited stallion in the world,

Lineage of Sjóli & Stássa's offspring: Þokkadís
110 Conformation BLUP, 108 Talent BLUP (probably 4 gaited)
Tolt: 108, Trot: 110, Gallop: 108, Spirit: 106, General Impressions: 109!

Gandálfur frá LoneStar - For Sale (see sales list)
Þrá frá Akureyri was breed to our Stefnir for a 2012 foal. Þrá should have foaled 1st.
That pinto colt finally arrived: May 28th, 2012 (Memorial Day). And this boy is huge!
This young colt was so TALL that he had trouble getting down far enough to nurse.
Gandálfur is mostly black with small white side panels that join over his withers.
He has a small white patch around his white tail, which will have a black core in the middle.
He has three white stockings of various length, though all feet are white. His conformation
is excellent. This is the best looking offspring that Stefnir has produced, which is saying
a lot. We have some very good looking young mares out of him, but Gandálfur may be the best.
He has a very long raised neck with an overall lean body build. Gandálfur is 5 gaited and
has Stefnir's natural Tolt. Þrá has out done herself again, though Þrá is a very
high quality mare. By the way Gandálfur is quite engaging, friendly and has lots of personality.
I get the impression that he may end up being rather spirited.
Lineage of Gandálfur

Stúlka frá LoneStar - For Sale
The sweet filly of Ósk frá Árholti & our 4 gaited stallion, Sjóli frá LoneStar, 7/18/2011
Stúlka is the same color as Ósk. Technically, she is a Bleikálóttur, meaning a "light bay dun".
This is Ósk's first light bay dun filly since the birth of Sæta in 2002. Krunur was also a light bay dun.
I suspect that she will be 4 gaited, as are her parents. Stúlka is a very good looking large filly with
strong shoulders, long legs & with a refined raised neck & attractive head.
I would venture that this could be Ósk's offspring with the best conformation so far. All her offspring are
very good looking. Ósk has 2 offspring out of 1st prize stallions, but Stúlka may end up surprising.
Stúlka is beginning to show movements very much like Sjóli, both wide and long.
Stúlka is now several years old and she is very good looking, with very good proportions, long lean neck
with a very refined/attractive head, very prominant strong shoulders and a very attractive dark golden color,
rather unique for my light bay duns. She is one of the best looking bay dun that I've ever had. Only Little Tango
is better looking.

Orka♥ frá LoneStar - For Sale

The offspring of Skrýtla frá Böðmóðsstöðum and Stefnir frá Staðartungu arrived, 6/21/2011.
This is one cute little filly. She is just like a big puppy! She is a black & white pinto, as are
both of her parents. She has a large heart on both sides ... black on a white background.
Ancestral Stallions & mares include: Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (HP), Kolfinnur frá Kjarnholtu (HP),
Ofeigur frá Hvanneyr (HP), Nattfari fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi (HP), Fengur frá Ibisholi and the Honor Prize (HP)
mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki. Both grandsires had a 9 for tolt and a 9 for General Impressions.
Orka has very good movements. She is five gaited, as she has inherited Stefnir's natural Tolt. She is filling
out very nicely but not yet free of her fuzzy winter coat. :-) More pictues when she sheds off better.
This is one really good looking and good moving filly. Orka is very nice & very gentle and very 5 gaited.
Orka shows all gaits under herself & seems to move fluidly through them all, including flying pace. Her gait
distribution appears to be excellent. She trots, tolts, canters, gallops & shows flying pace effortlessly.
Orka is beginning to look more like her mother, a very Powerul High Stepping Mare. And that is NOT hype ...
Calculated Blup of near 100. As Orka grows, she is getting taller, leaner & with longer legs.
Her proportions are improving with maturity.

Orka's lineage

Orka (age 2, big heart) doing flying pace! And mother is 4 gaited. Stefnir reigns ....
Didn't know she did this until I caught her with a camera. She usually tolts.

Litli-Tangó frá LoneStar (aka) Little Tangó
also known as El Tigre ... the Tiger

The offspring of Sæta frá LoneStar & 1st prize 5 gaited stallion, Tangó frá Strandarhöfði, 6/16/2011
Little Tangó has Ófeigur frá Flugumýri on both sides. Sæta's father, Hilmir, is a son of Ófeigur.
Little Tango has at least five Honor Prize (HP) ancestors and numerous 1st prize ancestors. Tango is signficantly Kolkuos.
Ancestral Stallions & mares include: Stígur frá Kjartanstöðum (HP), Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (HP),
Odur frá Brun (HP), Aron frá Strandarhöfði (HP), Hilmir fra Sauðárkróki (1st Prize),
Stigandi frá Kolkuósi, Hörður frá Kolkuósi and the mares: Ósk frá Brun (HP, daughter
of Ófeigur), Hervör frá Sauðárkróki (HP), Herva frá Sauðárkróki (1st Prize)
& the Honor Prize mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki.
This is one cute and active little colt. He reminds me of his mother when she was young, always in motion.
This Colt is the same color as his mother, but with a smutter face & the widest eel stripe I've ever seen.
As the blonde hair in a light bay dun's mane is from the eel stripe, I'm expecing Little Tangó to have a lot!
Little Tango is also showing "tiger stripes" on his legs, which is the first of my bay duns to do this.
He is our first grandson. I'm thinking that he will be an extremely good looking light bay dun, Bleikálóttur.
I just hope that his mane/forelocks end up really long like his mother, Sæta's, as are those of Hilmir!
This colt has very nice movements, as he moves somewhat like his father, Tangó. A talent BLUP of 108.
Little Tangó is a cross between his mother's Fire & Drive and his father's Dancing movements.
He has very thick strong legs/joints, very muscular with very graceful powerful movements & with lots
of suspension. When Little Tango moves, it is with maximum effort & maximum extension. I am very happy
to have such a young stallion with such graceful movements & with such a beautiful color.
He is well above our hopes & expectations. This colt will stay a stallion.
His eel stripe is not only very WIDE (3x that of his mother), but very dark. Will have to research this further.
We will breed with him starting in 2016.

Rún frá LoneStar
The foal of Elja & the 1st prize 5 gaited stallion, Tangó frá Strandarhöfði, arrived 7/27/2010.
Rún has a significant amount of Kolkuos in her lineage. Rún means "rune, mystery, magic or secret".
Rune can also mean a "poem or song". Rún is not for sale. She will replace her mother in our breeding program.
Rún is as sweet and personable as a puppy! She is going to be a strong mare as she literally powers
herself over the ground, where as her sister (Prinsessa) merely glides over it. Rún is already
dominating her older sister. I think Tangó got the upper hand on this breeding. Rún is tall, lean
and long legged like her father. She is very sane and easy going on the ground. Currently, Rún is with
mares that are a year older than she is with no complications. Unlike mother or daddy, Rún is quite
confident & fearless.
Rún's lineage

We may breed Sjóli & Rún in 2017/2018.

Prinsessa frá LoneStar
The offspring of Sæta frá LoneStar & a 1st prize 5 gaited stallion, Tangó frá Strandarhöfði, 5/6/2010
This is one beautiful little filly with very good conformation: strong chest/shoulders, well set lean
long raised neck, attractive head, lean build, a five gaited croup and long legs. Prinsessa is a
dark red bay. She is our first grand daughter. Her movements are as impressive as she is good looking.
She gracefully glides over the ground. Prinsessa has Ófeigur frá Flugumýri on both sides.
Sæta's father, Hilmir, is a son of Ófeigur.
Prinsessa has at least five Honor Prize (HP) ancestors and numerous 1st prize ancestors.
Tango is signficantly Kolkuos. Ancestral Stallions & mares include: Stígur frá Kjartanstöðum (HP),

Esja frá LoneStar
The very first filly ever born to our Gydja frá Víðimel, sired by our Stefnir, born 8/30/09.
I have waited at least four years for this little filly. Esja will be five gaited.
Esja is already showing a clean tolt within days of her birth.
This is one very precious cute sweet little filly!   She has lots of tolt!
Esja is quite active and is very five gaited. She has very good conformation
and movements. I would even say that Esja is a very attractive young mare.
Grandsires: Fengur frá Ibisholi and Stígandi frá Sauðárkróki.
Stígandi has Honor Prize for his offspring & Fengur is a World Tolt Champion.
She also traces her lineage to the following stallions/mare: the Honor Prize stallions
Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ, Sörli frá Sauðárkróki, Hrafn frá Holtsmúla,
Hörður frá Kolkuósi, the first prize stallion Blakkur frá Kolkuósi,
and the famous first prize Honor mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki
(from which she traces her rather unique color, side panels & vertical rump stripes).
This is a quite refined, nimble and prancy young mare, who will replace her most beloved mother.
Esja moves better than all the other 5 year old mares. She is very proud & very lateral in her
movements.
Esja's lineage

We may breed Esja to Sjóli in 2016/2017.

Ræna frá LoneStar - For Sale
Ræna is the very pretty filly of our Elja (Kolkuos/Svadastadir mare) and Stefnir, arrived 7/23/09.
She has a rather stout yet refined conformation & is quite active. She's a chestnut dun filly,
with a small star. I'm quite impressed with this filly, and am inclined to keep her to eventually
replace her mother as a broodmare from the Kolkuos line. I was so impressed with Ræna that I
decided to breed her mother (Elja) to a first prize stallion, for a foal in 2010. Ræna is
very flexible just like her full blood sister, Ljúfa, born in 2007.
She traces her lineage to the following stallions/mare: Hörður frá Kolkuósi,
Lettir frá Kolkuósi, Stigandi frá Kolkuósi, Rauður frá Kolkuósi
Kristall frá Kolkuósi (9 for tolt), Hrafn frá Holtsmúla, Fengur frá Ibisholi
and the famous first prize Honor mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki.
Ræna is an amazingly good looking mare with exceedingly good conformation,
with a long flaxen mane & an attractive face/head. At times, I just can't believe
that she looks so good. Ræna is 5 gaited, but often trots as she is somewhat trot concentric.
Meaning that her trot is rather dominate, like her mother & older sister.

The pinto filly of Rut frá Litlagarði & Stefnir frá Staðartungu was born 6/27/09.
She is predominately white with black markings, much like Lakotah. Cheyenne is a beautiful long
legged girl. Cheyenne is quite active and is very five gaited. She has very good conformation
and movements. I would even say that Cheyenne is also a very attractive young mare.
Grandsires: Fengur frá Ibisholi and Markús frá Langholtsparti.
Markús has Honor Prize for offspring and Fengur is a World Tolt Champion.
Both of these stallions have a 9.0 for tolt!
She traces her lineage to the following stallions: Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ,
Hlynur frá Báreksstöðum, Otur frá Sauðárkróki, Orri frá Þúfu,
Hrafn frá Holtsmúla, and the famous first prize Honor mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki

Miska frá LoneStar
The beautiful filly of Þrá frá Akureyri and Óskar frá Litla-Dal has arrived, 6/19/09
Miska is very fast and nimble in her movements. Miska is five gaited. She is not for sale.
This picture was taken the day she was born. Her back legs are not yet straightened out and
she is facing down hill. She is not so high in her rump. :-) Miska is quite black & fuzzy now.
She is showing movements very much like her parents (very suspended trot), plus some tolt & pace.
Grandsires: Orvar frá Homrum (1st Prize) and Stígur frá Kjartanstöðum (Honor Prize).
Miska traces her lineage to the following stallions/mares: the Honor Prize stallions
Sörli frá Sauðárkróki, Nattfari fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi (on both sides), plus the stallions

and the Honor Prize mares: Elding fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi, Terna frá Kirkjubæ & Siða frá Sauðárkróki.
Óskar is a very stout and powerful stallion. Miska is also very well built (stout) and will have
very good movements like both of her parents. She will be very balanced in her gaits like her father, Óskar.
Regarding conformation, Miska has a strong broad chest, a very good/strong/wide back, strong croup and legs.

Lakotah frá LoneStar - For Sale
Harpa & Stefnir's pinto colt has arrived, 6/9/09. Lakotah is very active and is very five gaited.
Lakotah is very brave and comes right up to us. He is a very tall boy for his age, which is not
all that suprising considering Harpa is well over 14 hands. At three months of age, he already
within about 2 hands of the backs of my older mares, who are over 13 hands in height! He is TALL!
Lakotah has a rather striking appearance. He's predominately white with a black head and tail,
with one black spot on his back, which will not show under saddle. Pics to come soon.
Lakotah, at age one, is already as tall as Tjaldari, at age two. This is going to be a TALL boy.
Lakotah is a bit of a fireball. He is rarely still and he is very FAST. He pesters the pee out
of Tjaldari constantly, at times chasing him in a full gallop and/or pace. He is not overly
sensitive, just very active. Lakotah is as tall as his father (Stefnir) at the age of 1.5 years.
Note: that fence behind him is well over five feet tall. Winter picture with thick sheep like hair.
Lakotah will only be sold to a very GOOD home. No second chances. He is a very good boy!

Tjaldari frá LoneStar - For Sale
Tjaldari, a young gelding sired by our stallion, Stefnir and foaled by our mare Ósk.
Tjaldari can trace his ancestry to both Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (stallion 802), through
both Sire & Dam, and to Siða frá Sauðárkróki through Stefnir.
This is a very nice young stout compact blood chestnut gelding with very good conformation.
He is the most lateral moving offspring that we have yet seen out of either Stefnir or Ósk.
Tjaldari has been tolting since he was just hours old. TJ is definitely 5 gaited.
He is for sale to the right home only. "Tjaldari" is an ancient word from the
'Snorra-Edda' (circa 1220 AD) that means a 'tolting horse'. He is a very easy going
young horse with very nice movements. At near 6 years, he's about 800+lb.
Tjaldari's temperament is exceptionally good. He is very easy to deal
with as he enjoys interacting with people. I would even say that he is down right Sweet.
His natural gait is Tolt. If moving faster, he may trot, gallop or pace at this time.
TJ can be down right FLASHY when he is out in the pasture moving around ... he is talented!
He shows all gaits with good gait distribution. I think he'd make a great family/kids horse,
just due to his natural SWEETNESS, but he can be a bit firey too. Will only be sold into the right very GOOD home.

Stássa frá LoneStar
Stássa is the daughter of Rut frá Litlagarði & Asi frá Kálfholti (Kolkuos), arrived 7-13-2007.
She's a chestnut filly with a star. Stássa will have a very light & long flaxen mane like Asi.
Grandsires: Feykir frá Hafsteinsstöðum & Markús frá Langholtsparti (son of Orri frá Þúfu)
Both of which are 1st Prize and Markús has First Prize for offspring.
In addition she traces her lineage to the following stallions: Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ (Honor Prize),
Hlynur frá Báreksstöðum (1st Prize), Otur frá Sauðárkróki (Honor Prize),
Orri frá Þúfu (Honor Prize), Ófeigur frá Flugumýri (Honor Prize),
Lettir frá Kolkuósi, Rauður frá Kolkuósi, Snæfaxi frá Kirkjubæ.
Stássa is already showing some amazing movements, characteristic of Asi's
offspring. Stássa means "dashing, fancy mare". Stássa is a muscle bound young
mare, i.e. very strong & powerful like her mother, Rut. While Stássa is not very
tall, she is very broad chested. She is NOT for sale. This is a hot competition level mare.
The first picture was taken when she was about 3 yrs of age.
Stássa has been bred to our Sjóli in 2011 for a foal in 2012. Confirmed pregnant.
This foal has been born, May 26th, 2012, i.e. Sjóli's birthday. It's a filly.
I actually helped this one get born. :-)

Sjóli frá LoneStar
Sjóli is out of Þra frá Akureyri and Tígull frá Gygjarhóli, arrived 5-26-07, a pretty dark red
bay (dark buckskin leather like) four gaited stallion. This is a very well bred young stallion.
Grandsires: Stígandi frá Sauðárkróki and Stígur frá Kjartanstöðum.
Both of which have an Honor Prize for their offspring. He also traces his lineage to the following
stallions/mares: Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ, Sörli frá Sauðárkróki, Nattfari fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi,
Hlynur frá Kirkjubæ, Hörður frá Kolkuósi, Stígandi frá Kolkuósi, Kolbakur frá Kolkuósi,
Hrafn frá Holtsmúla and the Honor Prize mares: Terna frá Kirkjubæ & Siða frá Sauðárkróki.

Sjóli's father, Tígull, is one of the highest evaluated four gaited stallion in the world,
8.60 overall. 8.65 for conformation. 9.5 for tolt & trot. 9.0 for gallop, spirit, appearance under rider.
Like his sire, Sjóli is four gaited.   He is a quite promising young stallion.   He is worth close
consideration for almost any breeding program.   We intend to start using Sjóli at LoneStar in 2010.
Sjóli has a very attractive front end, including his chest, long raised arched neck, refined
head and rather pretty face.   His friendly personality and good temperament match his appearance.
Sjóli means: "king, duke".   The King may yet emerge, but the DUKE has definitely arrived!   ;-)
Sjóli has become a beautiful & powerful young stallion prospect.   His gaits are exceptional, as
this boy can literally Prance & DANCE!   He is for breeding, and is NOT for sale.   Pic taken at age 3.5+.
Sjóli is available for breeding in Texas now.     I'll take more pictures as I have time.
In 2015, Sjóli will be bred to the following mares: Mánadís and Rut.
Sjóli's lineage

Mánadís frá LoneStar
She is the offspring of 1st prize stallion Moli frá Skriðu and Harpa frá Skriðu arrived, 4-5-07
Grandsires (both 1st prize): Glampi fra Vatnsleysu & Galdur frá Sauðárkróki
Glampi has First Prize for his Offspring, which means he is a 'strong" breeding stallion.
Galdur frá Sauðárkróki (8.59 for talent) was one of the hottest
Icelandic horses ever. Mánadís has inherited some of her grandsire's fire.
Mánadís has also inherited Moli's lift as she can really move!! Sometimes when I come out
at after midnight to feed, I find Mánadís and Ljúfa flying around the large paddock.
She is five gatied and gaits most of the time, but she does trot too. She has well above average lift.
She traces her lineage to the following Honor Prize stallions/mares: Hrafn frá Holtsmúla,
Sörli frá Sauðárkróki, the 1st Prize Gustur frá Sauðárkróki
and the Honor Prize mares Siða frá Sauðárkróki and Siða's famous daughter
Hrafnhetta frá Sauðárkróki (from which Mánadís gets her unique color),
side panels and verticle rump stripes. Mánadís is a very curious mare. She is getting tall,
as her mother was over 14 hands. Mánadís is not for sale. She is so much like her
mother Harpa. She will be added to our broodmares with her exceptinal bloodlines.
Mánadís will be bred to Sjóli in 2016 for a foal in 2017.
Pic taken at 3.5+ years of age. She is about 9.5 years of age now. She is very active!
Mánadís has very flashy movemnets with four white stocking feet.
Mánadís' lineage

Mánadís is very much a cross between Galdur fra Sautharkorki & Moli. Her pace BLUP is very low
compared to what she has within her. Therefore her offspring's BLUP will be undervalued. The offspring
of Mánadís and Sjóli will have Tallent BLUP of 104 (hindered by a too low Pace score).
This offspring will have a conformattion BLUP of 106 & overall of 105. Possible in 2017.

Blíða frá LoneStar - For Sale
Ósk & Stefnir's filly, April,2007: Blíða frá LoneStar, a dark bay dun mare with a
small star Blíða is showing very good movements & has a unique dark dun color.
She is 9.5 years of age & weighs over 800 lb. About 13.3H. Blíða is for sale.
Blíða is out of one of my best broodmares in regard to temperament and being
reliable. Blíða is well bred & well built. She is a very strong stout mare.
Blíða can trace her ancestry to both Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (stallion 802), through
both Sire & Dam, and to Siða frá Sauðárkróki through Stefnir.
Blíða is quite personable, but not pushy. She will be forward going.
Blíða is currently at the top of the pecking order for the young mares. Currently
Blíða is showing very fast powerful movements, including fast fluid trot & tolt.
I expect her to have a broad speed range. She is a very attractive mare with a very
nice overall conformation & top line. "Blíða" means warmth, mildness
and/or love

Ljúfa frá LoneStar - For Sale
Elja & Stefnir's filly, 4-9-07: Ljúfa is a chestnut dun mare with a very
defined eel stripe, a flaxen/silverish mane, a large star and a small snip.
She is 9.5 years old and weighs around 800lb. She is almost always in motion.
Ljúfa & Stássa (the red heads) are often galloping around the pasture.
She has a very nice prancy trot with nice lift and she is very forward going.
I suspect that Ljúfa will be 5 gaited as are both of her parents. In canter,
she walks with her back legs, indicative of five gaited horses. Though, like her
mother, she does not yet show laterial movement on her own, typical of the untrained
horses that have a strong trot and good gait distribution. Ljúfa will never be pacey.
Stefnir has an 8.5 for walk and Ljúfa will be at least that good: very extended
and not rushed. Ljúfa is reminding me a lot of Sæta at this age. She is always
in the middle of the action and has a very active easy engaging personalty. When the deer
run by, Ljúfa joins in & runs in the very large corral near them.
"Ljúfa" means mild & gentle one, but like Elja, she has power & energy.
Ljúfa's mother, Elja is out of the Kolkuos line, pure Kolkuos & Svadastadir.
She traces her lineage to the following stallions/mare: Hörður frá Kolkuósi (1st Prize),
Lettir frá Kolkuósi, Stigandi frá Kolkuósi, Rauður frá Kolkuósi
Kristall frá Kolkuósi (1st Prize), Hrafn frá Holtsmúla (Honor Prize),
Fengur frá Ibisholi (1st Prize) & the famous 1st Prize Honor mare Siða frá Sauðárkróki.
Well bred Kolkuos mares like this are very hard to find these days and they are quite
valuable as breeding stock due to their quality. She is a very personable and responsive,
though at times she can be outright fiery out in the pasture. Ljúfa has the most
developed sense of humor of any mare that I have ever known, a very rare characteristic.
She really has nice top line, high withers, barrel chested/backed, along with her full
croup, raised neck, nice head, long flaxen mane, star & snip, typical of Stefnir's offspring.
She will be taller and leaner, with a more attractive head than her mother, Elja.
Ljúfa is for sale to an acceptable home. Pic taken at 7 years of age.
She's about 13.3 hands.

Leikur frá LoneStar -- SOLD
This is Gyjda's latest pale black colt, Leikur (playful, lively), born June 9th, 2005.
Leikur is already showing very good movements and agility, including all gaits.
I observed all five gaits by the time he was a month old. He is the most 5 gaited
foal that I'd yet seen as of 2005. He is the most talented of the 3 young colts of 2005.
He is a very friendly guy and is quite personable.
Grandsires: Kveikur fra Miðsitju (1st Prize) and Stígandi frá Sauðárkróki,
which has Honor Prize for Offspring. Leikur also traces his lineage to the
following stallions: Þáttur frá Kirkjubæ (HP), Nattfari fra Ytra-Dalsgerdi (HP),
Sörli frá Sauðárkróki (HP), Gustur frá Sauðárkróki (1st Prize),
Hörður frá Kolkuósi and 1st Prize Blakkur frá Kolkuósi.

Tappi frá LoneStar - For Sale
Tappi frá LoneStar, Son of Gydja & Hilmir fra Sauðárkróki
Note the lean build & long legs. Tappi is 12 years of age.
Hilmir is pictured below. Tappi means: "the little one".

Grandsires: Ófeigur frá Flugumýri & Stígandi frá Sauðárkróki
Both of which have an Honor Prize for their offspring.
[ Tappi traces his roots back to Siða frá Sauðárkróki on both sides of
his parents. Hilmir's mother is Herva frá Sauðárkróki a sister of Hervar
(father of Otur) and grand daughter of Siða. Gyðja's father, Stígandi frá
Sauðárkróki, while half Kirkjubæ, is half Sauðárkróki, tracing
his roots to Siða via his mother, Ösp, on both her paternal and maternal lines, via
Sörli frá Sauðárkróki and Siða's daughter, Kápa frá Sauðárkróki.
Gyðja's mother was sired by Blakkur frá Kolkuósi (1st Prize), a son of Hörður frá Kolkuósi.]

Tappi is very five gaited and shows all gaits in the pasture.
I've been trimming Tappi's tail since before he was a year old, as it was dragging the ground.
His forelocks are already well below his eyes, just like his mother. He is a very handsome boy.
Tappi has a very stable mind and is not bothered by much. He is also very smart.
Tappi received an 8.04 (first prize) for conformation at an official evalution 2008. :-)
Specifically, Tappi received an 8 for neck-withers-shoulders, "back & croup", quality of legs,
hooves and an 8.5 for both proportions and "mane & tail".
Tappi completed his competition gait training & has gotten stronger & faster.
Tappi's lineage
Picture taken at real age of four.

Tappi definitely shows a lot of Hilmir, both in his conformation and movements.
Tappi is quite regal and graceful in motion ... he shows all gaits in the pasture.

Sæta frá LoneStar
Sæta means: "sweet one", and she is completely self-named.
Sæta, daughter of Ósk & Hilmir fra Sauðárkróki. She has good
conformation, disposition and a lot of personality and fairly good suspension
in her gaits. She is rather energetic.
Yes, she can untie herself and then any other horses around. :-)
She is fairly smart and fairly strong willed.
With people, she is quite personable & sweet. (Hilmir is pictured below.)
The color of all our bay duns are like buckskin, which is somewhat rare in Icelandics.
Sæta's lineage

Sæta has completed her initial gait training. She is very soft in the mouth, has a soft back & rather
forward going. She naturally holds herself very upright and there is like nothing in the rider's hands.

Sæta was bred to Tangó frá Strandarhöfði, a first prize 5 gaited
stallion and foaled in May of 2010.
Princessa arrived May 6th, 2010. She is such an awesome foal that we re-breed
Sæta to Tangó frá Strandarhöfði for a 2011 foal. See Litli-Tangó.

Sjóli & Sæta's foal's lineage

These were taken June, 2005, at almost three years of age.

Totally Airborne. This girl can fly! :-) She can drive from the rear end quite well ...

June, 2005

Sæta at almost four years of age, June 2006. She was four in early July, 2006.
Sæta has been through her initial training and completed gait training the summer of 2009.

This is Hilmir fra Sauðárkróki [IS1992157001],
a first prize bay dun pinto Icelandic stallion with a 9.5 for flying pace.
He is the sire of both Sæta & Tappi.

Hilmir is one of the best looking Icelandic stallions I have ever seen.
